Missouri’s governor has been announced as the featured speaker at the Texas County Republican’s Lincoln Day.
Eric Greitens will be joined by other area politicians at the April 21 event at the Licking High School gymnasium. This year’s theme is “America Proud.”
Greitens, who took office in January 2017, is the 56 th governor of Missouri and the second-youngest governor in the country. He is an author and former Navy Seal.
Also expected to speak at the event are Jason Smith, U.S. representative for the 8th Congressional District; Mike Cunningham, state senator for the 33rd District; Robert Ross, state representative for the 142nd District; and Paul Curtman, termed-out representative for Missouri’s 109th District and candidate for state auditor.
“This is a once-a-year event that involves many people to make it successful, meaning not only the speakers but everyone else who attends,” said Diane Krantz, chair of the Texas County Republican Committee. “It is a rare opportunity to personally meet and speak with some of the district’s incumbents and candidates.”
In addition to the speakers, there will be a live performance by Children’s Ballet of the Ozarks. Active and retired military as well as law enforcement will be honored.
