A former Houston High School boys’ basketball coach is being inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame.

Jerry Kirksey, who coached at HHS from 1964-’69, will be enshrined with the class of 2018 on April 21 at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield.

Kirksey coached eight years on the high school level, was a collegiate assistant eight years and head college coach 12 years, including a national championshp at Drury University. In Houston, he won three regional championships in five years and led one team to a No. 1 state ranking.
