Calvin “Bill” William Roark, 88, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Mountain View Health Care.

He was born May 23, 1929, in Kansas City, son of Calvin Rockel and Elizabeth “Betty)” Marie Spacek Roark. He and Iona May McAdams were married Nov. 9, 1949. She passed away Oct. 13, 2002.

Bill farmed and ran Hereford cattle. He referred to them as “his girls.”

He enjoyed hunting in his younger days. Fishing was his passion. He could be found on the farm tending the livestock or at the sawmill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Iona; and a grandson.

Survivors include four daughters, Pamela Crabtree and Pennie Woolsey of Arroll, Patricia White of Dittmer and Billie Kay Nygard of Summersville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Stoops; and a special friend, Kenny Brooks.

A celebration of life is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Oakside Community Church near Summersville. Visitation is 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Oakside Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
