The Houston eighth-grade boys’ 4×400 relay team broke the school record at Monday’s conference meet in Willow Springs.
The team of Cooper Mills, Nick Washko, Devon Sawyer and Patrick “PJ” Mister ran the relay in 4:08.41 to eclipse the program record of 4:13.01. They finished second in the event.
Washko earned the Tigers’ lone event with a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. The team finished fourth overall.
Two relay teams finished fourth: the 4×100 team of Nathan Garnica, Blake York, Hunter McKinney and Mills as well as the 4×200 team of Aaron Neal, Sawyer, McKinney and Ebin Smith.
Mills was fourth in the 400 and high jump. Mister placed fourth in the long jump.
Kirn, Haden place for seventh-grade boys
Will Kirn finished fourth in the 100 and fifth in the shotput for the Houston seventh-grade boys. Josh Haden was sixth in the 800.
