Kathryn Charmaine (DeWitt) Martin, daughter of the late Clise DeWitt and Jewell (Stark) DeWitt, was born Dec. 26, 1952, in Houston, Mo., and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2018. She was 65 years and 4 months of age.
Kathy was united in marriage to Kenny Lee Martin on Oct. 17, 1970, in Harrison, Ark. To this union two daughters were born. Carrie (Martin) Christeson and Terri (Martin) Wood.
Kathy had many occupations throughout her life, but her main focus and greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, sewing, making quilts, and telling people about her grandkids. Her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law considered her to be their sibling and she loved each one of them as such. She never knew a stranger and always had a smile and a hug for everyone. Kathy was saved and baptized at a young age and rededicated her life to Jesus on Sept. 15, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny Martin; her two daughters, Carrie Christeson and husband Darrell, Terri Wood and husband, Shane; and four grandchildren who were the light of her life, Nathan Christeson and fiancé, Natalie, Michael Wood, Audra Wood and Spencer Christeson all of Cabool, Mo. Kathy is also survived by her two brothers, Elvis DeWitt and Lesa, of Cabool, Mo., Eddie DeWitt and Linda of Norwood, Mo.; one sister, Kaye Brewer and husband, Eugene ,of Winona, Mo.; and a host of family and friends.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Victory Worship Center, Cabool, Mo., with Pastor Bill Kelly and Pastor Donnie Wells officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Services and cremation were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Victory Worship Center or Trinity Free Will Baptist Youth Group.
