The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
• A man called at about 6:15 p.m. May 12 to report finding a gun lying by the side of Lanier Drive at Licking.
An investigating officer observed that the gun was a Taurus 9-mm pistol. A computer check revealed that the gun had not been reported stolen.
• A Texas County 911 representative on May 14 requested a well-being check after a hang-up call was received from a Wallen Road residence at Summersville.
An investigating deputy made contact with a man who lives there who said everything was fine and that was the only person at the residence and hadn’t picked up the phone that day.
The officer reported that the sheriff’s department has recently received several similar calls regarding the Summersville area, especially when rain is falling.
• A Bucyrus man reported on May 9 that his 1994 Ford F-150 had been stolen from Highway BB and Slaughter Road. There are no suspects.
• A Licking man called at about 10 p.m. May 5 to report loud music coming from near his Highway N residence.
An investigating deputy located a house with a graduation party in progress, including a live band. The officer asked the residents to keep the music down to avoid disturbing neighbors.
• A deputy was dispatched at about 5:25 p.m. May 13 regarding a report of four women fighting at a Freedom Drive residence at Willow Springs. Before the officer arrived, the reporting party had called back to say no law enforcement officer was needed.
• A deputy was dispatched at about 12:10 a.m. May 13 after a woman reported hearing two dirt bikes trespassing on her Shelton Drive property at Willow Springs. The officer was unable to locate any motorcycles or trespassers.
