The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A deputy responded May 19 to a report of a fight between a man and a woman at a Highway 32 residence at Plato.
The officer made contact with a 40-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman who live there, and the woman said the man had punched her, but she didn’t care about that, she just wanted him to give her the respect she wanted. The man then showed the officer that he had a bloody nose and a knot on the right side of his jaw, and the woman stated she had a right to protect herself.
Both people said they had consumed alcoholic drinks, and both declined pursuit of charges. The 12-hour rule was put into effect. The woman said she would be sleeping in the house and the man said he would sleep in his truck.
•A 22-year-old woman came to the TCSD office on May 11 and reported that her 21-year-old boyfriend had assaulted her during a child exchange at a Washington Lane residence at Licking.
The woman told an officer the man had kicked a car door, causing it to hit her in the head. The officer observed a knot the size of a golf ball on her forehead.
The woman reportedly said multiple times that the man had threatened to kill her and her family during the incident, and she said she’s scared of him. A report was sent to the county prosecutor.
•A 47-year-old Cabool woman came to the TCSD office on May 14 to file a report about harassment.
The woman told an officer she had received emails from an unknown man accusing her of cheating on her husband. The woman said the emailer claimed to have nude photos of her that he was going to send to members of her family.
The woman said the emails had been received in November 2016. She also said someone had been coming into her house, although she hadn’t seen anyone inside.
The woman named a 46-year-old man as a suspect. The man was contacted and asked if he wanted to speak to an officer about the allegations and he said he didn’t.
•A deputy was dispatched to Summersville City Hall on May 15 to speak to two men, ages 35 and 34.
The men who told the officer that a 26-year-old man had come up behind them on Highway K in a white Kia with its lights flashing. They said they pulled over to find out what was up, and the man pointed a gun at one of them and tried to run the other one over.
The deputy and a Summersville police officer went to the suspect’s house to attempt to make contact with him, but he wasn’t home. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor.
