Benjamin Franklin Cooper, 82, passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017.

He was born May 4, 1935, in Hartshorn, son of Medford V. Cooper and Ruby Cloninger Bolton. He and Kathleen Edmonds were married Feb. 8, 1953.

He was baptized at an early age. He worked at a lath and plaster for 27 years in the construction industry. He was a truck driver for 30 years and farmed on and off as he could.

His hobbies were working construction or driving the truck, hunting, farming and being outside.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Medford Lee Cooper and V.C. Cooper; two sisters, Betty Jo Chrisco and Orba Jean Price; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Edmonds Cooper; five children, Ruby Louise Heikes, Loma Sue Combites, Benjie Rae Henke, Benjamin Franklin Cooper and Samuel Keith Cooper; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Memorial services are 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Summersville City Cemetery.
