Glenn Eugene Willson was born Jan. 18, 1935, at Parsons, Kan., to Francis L. and Willis Sears Willson. He went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2018.

He moved with his family to Houston, Mo., in September 1952. He graduated from Houston High School in May 1953. He and Irene Hubbs were married Feb. 26, 1954. To this union, three children were born.

He served in the U.S. Army from March 1954 to March 1956. He returned to Houston and worked at various jobs until Jan. 1, 1966, when he joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He retired from the patrol in August 1991. He worked part-time as a deputy for the Texas County Sheriff’s Department for the next 18 years, 10 years primarily as a transport officer for the TCSD, Juvenile Division and Department of Family Services. He finished this off with eight years as coordinator for the Texas County Neighborhood Watch Program.

Glenn was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, Houston, Mo., where he was actively involved as long as his health permitted.

Glenn enjoyed traveling, on family vacations while his children were growing and after he retired, traveling with Irene abroad and cruising.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; two brothers-in-law;, one sister-in-law; one nephew; and one niece. He is survived by his wife, Irene; one sister, Janiece Casebeer; a daughter, Shari and husband, Mike Boxler; two sons, Robert Willson and wife, Leslie, and Brian Willson and wife, Diana; six grandchildren, Travis Willson and wife, Tawny, Krystin and husband, Michael Sebastian, Shara and husband, Austin Nichols, Brandon Boxler and wife, Beth, Sabrina Willson and Marissa Boxler; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Haley and the Rev. Kendall Ford officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
