An Arnold man faces charges after his vehicle crashed Monday morning near Dog’s Bluff, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. 

David A. Rogers, 56, was driving a northbound 2001 Toyota Corolla that ran off the right side of Highway 17, struck an embankment and overturned about three miles north of Houston. 

Rogers was transported by ambulance to Houston Memorial Airport, where he was airlifted to Mercy in Springfield with serious injuries, said Sgt. Dale Pounds. 

Rogers was charged with DWI, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash and having no insurance. 

The vehicle was totaled. Rogers was wearing a seat belt.

Earlier: Emergency responders were called just before noon Monday to a rollover accident on Highway 17 west of Houston near Dog’s Bluff. 

A medical chopper was called to meet an ambulance at the Houston Memorial Airport. The Houston Fire Department assisted in establishing a landing zone.
