50 YEARS AGO — Graveling and grading had converted this lot at Grand Avenue and Walnut Street into a public parking area. The property, formerly the site of the Southern Hotel, was owned by Fred Forbes, C.W. Harry, Elmer Frederick and Ralph Lilly.
