Houston Police Department officer Greg Ryan resigned last Thursday (July 5).
The City of Houston is seeking a full-time officer to replace Ryan, who has been with the HPD since October 2015 and spending four years with the Texas County Sheriff’s Department prior to that.
“The police department has a job opening due to an officer resigning for personal reasons,” said HPD chief Tim Ceplina. “He will be missed, but the department will move forward and seek out the best applicant and continue to provide professional service to the City of Houston.”
Applications will be accepted through July 20, Ceplina said.
“We already have several good applicants,” he said. “We will try to narrow the field and select the best candidates to offer interviews. Our interview process will begin immediately following the close of the applications so we can begin to integrate the new officer into the department.”
An ad for Ryan’s replacement appears in this week’s Houston Herald.
