The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
• Joyce A. Meizler, 73, of 320 Forrest Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to yield right-of-way after a two-vehicle accident at U.S. 63 and East Highway 17 at about 12:15 p.m. July 15.
• Kandice R. Pearson, 31, of 17100 Tiffany Drive, Lot C, in Houston, was cited for driving with a suspended license and failure to register a motor vehicle after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 3:50 p.m. June 30.
Pearson was also found to have an active City of Houston warrant for failure to appear on a speeding charge. She was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail.
• William R. Hawkins, 61, of 615 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was cited for driving with a revoked license after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 1:15 p.m. July 17.
• Gregory D. Shelton, 32, and Crystal J. Shelton, 31, both of 817 Dooley St. in Houston, were each issued citations for fourth-degree domestic assault after an incident at their residence on July 15.
• Christopher E.O. Giller, 28, of 4137 Highway VV at Licking, was arrested July 20 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for sale or possession of equipment or parts with altered identification numbers. An officer made the arrest at a probation office in Houston after being advised Giller was there. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.
• A 59-year-old Houston woman reported on July 11 that her 2011 Buick Enclave had been damaged while her daughter had it at Miller’s Grill on South U.S. 63.
The woman showed an investigating officer the damage, which included several long scratches and two dents on the driver’s side rear door. There are no suspects and investigation continues.
• Brandon J. Brim, 36, of 6052 Highway 17, Apt. 13, in Houston, was arrested on July 13 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
An officer made the arrest after observing a car sitting on First Street with its hazard lights on. The officer stopped to investigate and made contact with the driver, Brim, who said he had looked down at his cell phone and struck a hand railing that separated a sidewalk from the roadway.
Brim was also cited for failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $50,000 bond.
