Two Texas County residents were among three people killed in an accident last Thursday afternoon in Audrain County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The patrol said a 24-year-old woman from Justice, Ill., was attempting to pass a trailer-truck unit from Liberty, Ill., when she struck a 2008 Mercury Mariner head-on that was driven by Douglas W. Turner, 75, of Licking. The Mariner was pushed into the trailer-truck, too. The tragedy unfolded at about 2 p.m. on U.S. 54 about two miles south of Laddonia.
Turner and a passenger, Helen J. Turner, 72, also of Licking, were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies transported to a Mexico, Mo., funeral home, the patrol said.
A passenger in the other vehicle, Kyreoin Glispie, 18, also died. The driver, Kierra T. Glispie, had serious injuries.
