A Houston man faces a tampering with utilities charge by Houston police.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Andrew J. Ellis, 34, of 306 S. Grand Ave. in Houston, was issued a citation for tampering with utilities on July 28.

An officer cited Ellis after being contacted by his landlord, who stated she was in the process of evicting Ellis, who she stated was living in the house without utilities. The landlord told the officer she had gone to the house and observed an extension cord running to it from an adjacent dentist’s office.

The officer saw Ellis operating a motorcycle on Grand Avenue and initiated a traffic stop. Ellis was advised he could no longer use the extension cord and was not permitted to stay in the house without utilities.

•Kenneth L. Hall, 59, of 18787 Highway H at Elk Creek, was cited for driving while revoked on July 26.

•Eddie J. Christenson, 27, of 12816 Highway AD at Cabool, was cited for failure to register a motor vehicle on July 5.

•Renee S. Phillips, 55, of 506 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was on Aug. 4 issued a citation for allowing an animal to run at large – second offense.

An officer was dispatched Aug. 3 regarding a report of a dog running loose at an apartment complex on West Highway 17.

A woman who lives there told the officer a large female pit bull had approached her son outside the apartments. She stated she took the dog in so it wouldn’t run away. The officer didn’t know who the dog belonged to and took it to the city pound.

The next day, Phillips reportedly contacted the officer and stated she believed her dog had been picked up by police. The officer showed her a photo of the dog and she confirmed it was hers.

The officer took Phillips to the pound and helped her retrieve the dog.

•On Aug. 3, the maintenance director at Houston House Nursing Home reported that five windows on the west side of the facility’s main building had been damaged.

The man showed an investigating officer the windows, which reportedly displayed damage likely done by a BB or pellet gun. The man said he had found two BBs inside one of the windows, and that a female resident reported hearing a window in her room break at about 11 p.m. Aug. 2.

Total repair cost of the windows is reportedly $600. There are no suspects.

•An officer on July 25 investigated a report of a counterfeit $100 bill taken in the previous day at Miller’s Grill.
