After allegedly swiping several items of clothing from the Houston Walmart Supercenter during the wee hours of May 16, a Licking woman is charged with stealing – fourth or subsequent offense within 10 years (a class E felony).
A report made by a Houston Police Department officer states he was contacted by a Walmart official on May 19 with regard to a theft.
The officer viewed surveillance video that showed a woman identified as Tara Medlock, 37, of 14898 Slabtown Road at Licking, enter the store at about 12:36 a.m. wearing a T-shirt, shorts, knee socks and shoes. After entering, Medlock reportedly selected several plastic bags from a checkout station and went into the women’s apparel section.
At about 2:17 a.m., she appeared in the infants section wearing black scrubs (top and bottoms). Then at about 3:14 a.m., Medlock was observed in the totes section of the store and seen changing into a pair of white athletic-style shoes.
Video then showed her leaving the store at about 3:45 a.m., still wearing the new attire, none of which had been paid for. The officer made contact with Medlock and she claimed she thought the items had been paid for.
A computer check revealed Medlock also goes by the name Tara Warren. Bond is set at $100,000 after charges were filed Sept. 20.
