Teddy Gene Holdren, 64, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

He was born Sept. 3, 1954, in Muncie, Ind., son of Norman G. Holdren and Klara L. Conkle Holdren. He and Elizabeth Bachofen were married April 11, 1998, in McPherson, Kan.

Ted lived his years growing up throughout the state of Montana. He graduated from Helena High School in Helena, Mont., in 1971. He enlisted in the Marine Corp from Sept. 3, 1971, to Sept. 29, 1981.

He worked as an electronics engineer for a variety of companies until Dec. 14, 1998, due to a car accident.

He and his wife, Elizabeth, lived in Denver, Colo., until Feb. 1999, when they moved back to McPherson, Kan., and lived until 2004. In August 2006, they moved to the Fort Leonard Wood area, where he resided until his death.

He enjoyed music and played the trombone in the Marine Corp Band. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, hiking, woodworking and working in his skid loader.

He believed what the Bible says and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod teaches. As a baptized child of God, he knew he was a sinner with many human errors and he believed that Jesus died and was resurrected for the forgiveness of his sins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; two sisters Leslie Klem of Idaho and Judy Ramer of Montana; a daughter, DeeAnna Wilson; and three grandsons.

A celebration of life with military services is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Dallas Dailing Place, 11197 Hwy M, Success. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. He loved teddy bears. In his memory, the family suggests giving a teddy bear to a child at Christmas.
