The following accident was reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol:

• Two persons were seriously injured Saturday afternoon north of Summersville when a truck overturned. Tpr. J.M. Kenyon said a northbound 2000 Ford F-150 left a gravel road, traveled off the left side of a Shannon County road, overturned and ejected a passenger, Mary B. Sloan, 22, of West Plains. Rescue workers said Sloan, who was not wearing a seat belt, is pregnant. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was William R. Leggett, 55, of Houston.

Sloan was taken by air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield. Leggett was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

The vehicle was totaled. Members of the Summersville Fire Department assisted on County Road 349, which is seven miles north of Summersville.
