HHS senior Kennedy Campbell shares a hug with teammate Liliana Amick following last Thursday's match. It was the final game inside Hiett Gymnasium for the seniors.

The Houston volleyball team honored a senior class last week that coach Loran Richardson said meant more than just additional victories for the program.

Last Thursday’s match with Winona was the final home game for seniors Melody Buse, Kennedy Campbell, Tara Stanton, Alexis Choate, Darby Bell and Madison Barton. The group led HHS to nine wins in 2018 –– four more than the previous year.

“But even more important than wins and losses, was the way these girls treated each other and the way they were good teammates to one another,” Richardson said. “That’s a successful season to me.”

Campbell had five kills in the straight sets loss to Winona. Buse led Houston with 11 digs. Choate had six assists.
