A Texas County man is charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
Daniel W. Hollingshead, 34, of 998 Highway 137 at Willow Springs, faces the felony charge.
A report by a sheriff’s department deputy said that at about 11:30 p.m. Oct. 19, Sheriff Rowdy Douglas advised that Hollingshead was in jail on a 24-hour hold after being picked up for not registering. A pair of deputies reportedly interviewed Hollingshead, and he said he had been living at his address in Texas County for about two weeks.
During the interview, Hollingshead reportedly stated he had not registered because his vehicle was broken down. He was advised he had three days to register in Texas County after moving from another county.
He reportedly said he understood the process and should have registered.
