The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
• Laura A. Twyford, 28, of 612 Maple St. in Houston, was issued a citation for animal at large after an incident on Oct. 5.
An officer was dispatched at about 5:30 p.m. regarding a report of an aggressive dog loose on Maple Street. A 33-year-old man who is a neighbor of Twyford’s told the officer he had gone outside to get his lawn mower when he was confronted by a dog barking at him. The man said the dog kept coming at him, so he threw a stick at it and managed to get if off his property.
The man told the officer the problem is ongoing and he is afraid the dog might hurt him or his family members. The officer made contact with Twyford and she stated that if a stick hadn’t been thrown at the dog it wouldn’t have been aggressive.
• Jacob I. Cichon, 18, of 4824 Highway Z at Cabool, was issued a citation for driving without a valid license after a traffic stop on Walnut Street at about 11:10 p.m. Oct. 1.
• Gavin D. Alston, 19, of 16005 Forrest Drive in Houston, was cited for operating a motor vehicle with expired license plates after a traffic stop on Grand Avenue at about 10:10 p.m. Oct. 1.
• James Burris Jr., 35, of 16375 Forrest Drive in Houston, was cited for failing to stop at a posted sign after a traffic stop on Grand Avenue at about 10:35 p.m. Oct. 3.
• Charles B. Worrell, 51, of 17355 Boone Creek Road at Licking, was cited for failing to stop at a posted stop sign after a traffic stop on Walnut Street at about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 3.
• Robin Kiser, 41, of 742 Bryan Street in Houston, was cited for careless and imprudent driving after a two-vehicle accident Sept. 3 on Hawthorn Street.
• Jenny L. Crewse, 42, of 3702 County Road 4910 in Willow Springs, was cited for failing to stop at a posted sign after a traffic stop on Grand Avenue at about 7:55 p.m. Oct. 1.
• Timothy S. Edwards, 47, of 8550 Highway E in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $750 after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart on Sept. 5.
An investigating officer reported watching store surveillance video that showed Edwards putting a Bissel vacuum cleaner valued at $189 into a shopping cart and then leaving the store without paying for it. A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy was contacted and arrested Edwards at his residence and took him to jail.
He denied taking the vacuum.
