The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

• A man reported on Sept. 18 that someone had been dumping trash in his Nevill Road property. There are no suspects.

• A Licking man reported on Sept. 18 that a Ruger .40 caliber pistol, two ammunition magazines and a holster and been stolen from a nightstand next to a bed in his Buffalo Road residence. There are no suspects.

• A deputy was dispatched at about 8:55 p.m. Sept. 12 after a report was received that a 12-year-old boy was threatening to kill his brother at a residence in a Country Aire Lane trailer park at Cabool. Per his parents’ request, the boy was transported to a medical facility for mental evaluation.

• Michael E. Scranlin, 41, of Highway M at Cabool, was issued a citation for peace disturbance on Oct. 3 after allegedly being involved in a domestic dispute at his residence with a 38-year-old woman.

On the way to the scene, an investigating deputy was advised that Scranlin was walking in the roadway and obstructing traffic on Highway M, and that he had been hit by a trailer being pulled by a pickup while doing the same thing a few weeks earlier.

Scranlin was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 12-hour safe-keeping period. Jail personnel asked him to take a breath test, and he registered a blood alcohol content of .151. He reportedly was belligerent with the officer and jail staff, cursing and using threatening words and gestures.

• A 49-year-old Huggins man reported on Oct. 4 that an air compressor and a tool set with a total value of $280 had been swiped from his Ash Drive residence. There are no suspects.

• A 75-year-old Licking woman reported on Sept. 27 that her 38-year-old daughter’s car had been stolen from her Highway N residence.

The woman told an investigating officer her daughter is in prison in Vandalia and she is taking care of her property while she’s incarcerated. The vehicle was reportedly parked at another woman’s Highway N residence when it was allegedly swiped.
