Houston senior Melody Buse was named to the second team all-district volleyball team in Class 2 District 9.
Buse, a libero, led the district with 394 digs and a 2.34 passer rating –– with only 32 errors on 401 receptions.
“Melody was a great leader for our team,” Houston coach Loran Richardson said. “She led by example and was always the first one to help other players. I’m so proud of her and her accomplishments this season.”
Members of the all-district first team were:
• Piper Francis, Liberty.
• Ally Smith, Liberty.
• Jaydra Johnson, Cabool.
• Abbie Cole, Licking.
• Caitlyn Basham, Liberty.
• Grace Moore, Mountain Grove.
• Trinity Clark, Liberty.
• Marely Gourley, Mountain Grove. Along with Buse, the second team included:
• Grace Bonnell, Licking.
• Ally Hall, Plato.
• Sydney Noel, Mountain Grove.
• Kaitlyn Ellison, Cabool.
• Kylie Taylor, Licking.
• Kinley Collins, Mountain Grove.
Liberty won the district championship 25-9, 25-16 over Cabool.
