The Cabool Area Chamber of Commerce will host multiple Christmas events Dec. 7 and 8.

At 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, there will be a Christmas tree lighting and with singing of Christmas carols on Main Street downtown at the Gazebo. Hot chocolate will be served, and an ugly Christmas sweater contest will be conducted, with the winner receiving a Christmas ham.

Cabool’s annual Christmas parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8., with lineup at 9 a.m. and judging of entries at 9:30 a.m.

Before and after the parade, the chamber will host a Christmas open house around the city, with more than a dozen businesses participating and many offering specials and sale items.

At each participating business, there will be punch cards to pick up. Consumers will take their card to each participating business they visit and receive punches or marks. At the end of the day, they will leave their card with the last business they visit and the following week will be entered into a drawing for prizes donated by the businesses.
