The Miss Merry Christmas Pageant returned this weekend with more than 100 attending the event in downtown Houston.
After a four-year hiatus, the pageant was held Saturday afternoon in the Melba Performing Arts Center. Houston High School freshman Sarah Purcell was crowned Miss Merry Christmas.
Young ladies showcased their modeling skills in Christmas attire, talents, ability to answer questions about Christmas and modeled their finest attire.
Participants also did a production number to “Jingle Bells.”
Elizabeth Harris, the 2014 winner when the pageant was last held, sang and assisted with crowning winners. Along with Purcell, they were:

• Miss St. Nick: Tabitha Melton.
• Miss Noel: Hope Blair.
• Miss Silver Bells: Rebecca Lyons.
• Miss Mistletoe: Ava Walker.
• Miss Snowflake: Jaelyn Scholz.
• Miss Holly: Harrington.
• Miss Yuletide: Becca McGiboney.
• Miss Winter Wonderland: Jones.
• Miss Evergreen: Crystilia Holden.
• Miss Jingle Bells: C.C. Creek.
• Miss Frosty: Annie Melton.
