• A Springfield boy, Jaxon Baker, who has gained notoriety for his Christmas lighting display was featured last week on a Springfield television station. His grandmother, Mary Baker, is a Houston resident. His dad, Kyle, is a 1988 graduate of Houston High School.

Jaxon’s holiday display this year has about 60,000 lights programmed and 50 inflatables. The show is programmed to match holiday music and is about 10 minutes long and runs on a loop that people can also tune into their radio.

This is the fifth year for the display that continues to grow.

Anyone can drive by to see the show orchestrated by Jaxon, 14. The address is: 4938 S. Tujunga Drive. Hours are 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The rest of the week it ends at 10 p.m.

• Gov. Mike Parson has declared Monday, Dec. 24, a state holiday.

• Customers of Intercounty Electric Cooperative will soon receive a special credit on their power bills. The reason? The board approved a $1 million discount to be distributed to its membership who had service between January and November 2018. Extreme weather earlier this year caused electrical meters to swirl and generated excessive profits.

Cycle two customers will receive their discount on their Dec. 8 bill and cycle one accounts will see this discount on their Jan. 1 bill. Prepay discount hit their account within the first few days of January.

Intercounty Electric is a member-owned organization that is a non-profit. It is headquartered at Licking and has offices at Mountain Grove and Rolla.
