The City of Houston is holding a public forum at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Houston Storm Shelter to discuss its proposed one-cent sales tax on the April ballot.
The tax would would provide additional revenue for the fire and police departments, as well as generate funding for municipal recreation and park opportunities.
A simple majority is required for passage. It would generate more than $700,000 annually.
The storm shelter is located at 191 N. First Street.
