Monthly sales tax collections in Houston were nearly unchanged from the same period a year ago, according to the latest report from the Missouri Department of Revenue.
The tally from a one-cent sales tax was $64,858, which was down by about $648 from February 2018. For the year, collections stand at $132,780, which is up $8,477 from a year ago.
Merchants also collect two quarter-cent sales taxes for streets, sidewalks and utility work. Each totaled $15.244, which was down about $843 on each from a year ago.
The monthly total to the city from internet sales was $4,350.
