J.A. (Jim) Breedlove, 79, passed away peacefully at Hickory Manor Nursing Home in Licking on Friday, April 26, 2019. He was born Dec. 1, 1939, at Heber Springs, Ark. He retired from Civil Service at Fort Leonard Wood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aron and Stella Breedlove; sister, Lorene and husband, Arthur Johnson; brother-in-law, Jay Osborne; nephew, Geney Johnson; and nieces, Dena Peterson and Beth Ann Osborne.
He is survived by a large and loving family. His loving wife of 63 years, Kerma (Neal) Breedlove of Licking; sons, Jeff Breedlove and wife, Linda Breedlove, of Licking and Jerry Breedlove of Mesquite, Texas; daughters, Pam and husband, Randy Creighton, of Baton Rouge, La., and Dawnella Holt of Nashville, Tenn.; four siblings Alta Osborne, Pat and husband, Bill Hildreth, Charlene Jones and Shelby and wife, Linda Breedlove, all from Licking; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Breedlove, Kelly Fasullo, Jennifer Breedlove, Jason Holt and wife, Bonnie Holt, Kristina Miremont and husband, John Miremont, Lindsey Breedlove, Ashley Holt, and Dylan Breedlove; 12 great-grandchildren, Annalea Breedlove, Taylar Coverdell, Sydney Breedlove, Alexia Breedlove, Kaitlin Breedlove, Abbigail Haskins, Alexis Randolph, Lucy Fasullo, Aiden Holt, Brendaen Bailey, Justin Breedlove and Creighton Miremont; and two great-great granddaughters, Alana and Bristol Breedlove. He also has several nieces and nephews from Licking and the surrounding area and cousins from Shreveport, La., and Heber Springs, Ark.
Jim’s family has always been the most important priority in his life, along with his community. He would help anyone who needed assistance. He had a strong Christian faith and attended Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral service of Jim’s life are 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Fox Funeral Home with Pastor David Jett and Pastor Scott Breedlove officiating. Pallbearers are Jeff Breedlove, Jerry Breedlove, Dylan Breedlove, Jason Holt, Jeremy Breedlove and Shelby Breedlove. Interment will be in Licking Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home.
