Ozark Independent Living art show judges Reid Grigsby and Sonya Jones chose this painting of a bridge by Raymondville resident Janice Daniels as the winner in the senior division of the show.

A Raymondville woman’s painting was among the winners in the seventh annual Art Show Featuring Seniors and Artists with Disabilities presented by Ozark Independent Living.

Janice Daniels was the winner of the senior division –– ages 65 and over –– with her depiction of a bridge. In the adult division for ages 18 and older, Cabool resident Rachel Frederickson placed third with a small painting of trees and birds.

“We congratulate the winning artists and thank everyone for their participation in the show,” said Terry Hampton, OIL marketing and independent living specialist. “There are some really fabulous entries this year, and the judges had difficulty choosing winners. OIL invites everyone to stop by and view the works which are on display at the civic center during regular hours of operation.”

Medals were awarded to the winners, who were allowed one entry in each of seven categories. All categories were judged together within each division. Reid Grigsby and Sonya Jones, who is an art instructor for the West Plains R-7 School District, judged the exhibit.

OIL, headquartered in West Plains, is a non-residential Center for Independent Living and disability resource center. Entry in the show was open to artists in the region served by OIL which includes Howell, Douglas, Oregon, Ozark, Shannon, Texas and Wright counties.
