The Houston Police Department handled several investigations in the last week.

The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Joshua D. Carman, 43, of 1161 Covey Road at Mountain Grove, was issue citations for driving while intoxicated (drugs) and driving while suspended after a traffic stop at Highway 17 and Airport Road at about 8:50 p.m. July 6.

An officer who was aware that Carman’s license was suspended made the stop after observing him driving west on Highway 17. After making contact with Carman, the officer noticed signs of impairment and field sobriety tests were conducted. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.

•Brandon J.L. Giller, 24, of 4137 Highway VV at Licking, was cited on July 13 for driving with a suspended license.

•McKenzie J. Hall, 17, of 14560 Cloverdale Road at Cabool, and Danielle L. Warren, 17, of 2305 King Road at Mountain Grove, were each issued citations for stealing less than $750 and minor in possession of alcohol after allegedly shoplifting liquor from Walmart on June 29.

•Shawn Gott, 29, of 210 W. Steffens St. in Houston, was issued a citation for property damage after allegedly breaking a mirror valued at $200 at 71-year-old woman’s residence on June 18.

The woman told an investigating officer she and Gott had gotten into an argument and he had become angry and struck the mirror.

•Skye C. Marler, 19, of 220 Center St., No. 15, was cited on July 1 for failure to register a motor vehicle.

•Andrew S. Bradford, 35, of 225 Fredrick St. in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a posted stop sign during a traffic stop at Highway 17 and Hamrick Street at about 11:25 p.m. June 20.

An officer made the stop after observing a tan Dodged Durango pass by three stop signs without coming to a complete stop. After making contact with the driver – Bradford – the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted.

He was taken to jail for a 6-hour hold period.

•A 17-year-old Houston man reported on July 12 that a black iPhone X had been stolen from his truck while he was inside Walmart. There are no suspects.

•A member of Walmart management reported on July 19 that a man tried to pay for items with a counterfeit $50 bill.

A cashier reportedly identified the bill as fake and seized it, and the man then produced real cash. The suspect left the store, and surveillance video showed he drove away in a silver Toyota SUV bearing Illinois license plates that checked back as belonging to a Chicago resident.
