Jacqueline (Jackie) Hyer Leavitt Bullock passed on November 12, 2019 at the age of 91 as the result of a brain hemorrhage. Jackie was born in Houston MO to Pearl Prentiss McCaskill Leavitt and Roscoe Bliss Leavitt on October 2, 1928.
Jackie graduated from Houston High School in 1946 and then received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Drury College in 1950. She taught choral music in Iberia, Elvins, Viburnum, Houston, and Dora, Missouri. As choral director at Houston High School from 1972 to 1981, her choirs, ensembles, and soloists received numerous honors and awards.
Jackie was a member and choir director for many years at the United Methodist Church in Houston. For the last several years she resided at Rolla Health and Rehabilitation in Rolla, Missouri. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Muriel Noreen Leavitt McColgin, and daughter Christie Lee Bullock. She is survived by her son Richard Leavitt Bullock of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter Denise Muriel Bullock, daughter-in-law Joan Melissa Blankenship, both of Richmond, Ind., and grandsons Richard Leavitt Bullock, Jr. and Brandon Stephen Lee Bullock.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be interred at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Houston Missouri.
