JOYCE MEIZLER

Joyce Ann Meizler, age 74, passed away Nov. 8, 2019, at her home in Houston, Mo., with family by her side. She was born March 2, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo., to Melvin and Iva (Breeden) Adey.

Joyce grew up in the Arthur’s Creek area and attended school in the one room schoolhouse at Arthur’s Creek. She graduated from Houston High School in 1962.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Joyce is survived by her sons, Mike Meizler and wife, Joy of Thayer, Mo., and Mark Meizler and wife, Michelle of Houston, Mo.; two brothers, Dan Adey and wife, Georgia of Houston, Mo., and Dale Adey and wife, JoAnn of Houston, Mo.; her sister, Joanie Armstrong of Liberty, Mo.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and many friends.

Joyce was a long-time member of Houston First Free Will Baptist Church. She was a rural mail carrier for the Houston Post Office for over 37 years. Joyce was a loving caregiver to her mom for over 30 years.

Joyce enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and the North Carolina Tar Heels. Joyce loved her family, holidays and family gatherings were always spent at her house. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Services were 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Houston First Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial was in Arthur’s Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ben Adey, Brian Adey, Greg Thomson, Mike Beasley, Dustin Wildhaber and Robbie Wildhaber.
