Joan Marie Smith, age 74, daughter of Ignatius and Rose (Duriavig) Mulitsch was born Sept. 13, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo. She passed away Dec. 4, 2019, at her home in Raymondville, Mo.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Joan is survived by her husband, Doyle Smith of Raymondville, Mo.; her son, Doug Smith of Houston, Mo.; her sisters, Frances Snyder of Memphis, Tenn., and Gail Martin of St. Louis, Mo.; two granddaughters, Kennedy Jean and Ivy Rose Smith; and a step-daughter, Terri Range of Thayer, Mo.
Joan was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church.
Joan married Doyle Smith Jan. 21, 1966, in St. Louis, Mo. They would have celebrated their 54th anniversary in January.
Joan owned and operated Smith Insurance for over 25 years, first working out of her home, then in her office in Houston, Mo. She loved her work, and taking care of her clients, making many lifelong friends.
She enjoyed redoing furniture, shopping for jewelry or just shopping in general, and decorating her home for all the holidays. Joan was strong willed and very independent. She was still working until five weeks before her death. Joan will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Doug Smith, Terry Long, Lenny Clayton, Till Clayton, Dalton Clayton and Mike Smith.
