BILLIE JEAN GIBSON

Billie Jean Gibson, age 90, daughter of Emmett and Emma (Cornett) Dutton was born March 15, 1929. She passed away January 12, 2020, at her daughters’ home in West Alton, Mo.

She grew up in Dutton, Ark., and attended school at St Paul, Ark.

She married Bobbie Gene Gibson on April 20, 1947 in Seattle, Wash., then moved to Anchorage, Alaska. They had two children, Linda Sue and John Robert.

They moved to Success, Mo., from Oak Grove, Mo., in 1976. She was a member of Roby Baptist Church for many years.

Billie is survived by her children, John R. Gibson of Success, Mo., and Linda S. Irvine and Raymond Jackson of West Alton, Mo.; a brother, Arthur Dutton and wife Rheta; a sister, Betty Ayers and husband Wayne; four grandchildren, Brianna Gibson and fiancé Christian, Christina Whitaker and husband Bill, John Michael Gibson and wife Jessica, and Shawn Gibson and wife Jackie; 12 great-grandchildren, James, Evan, Colin, Maria, Liam, Emma, Janessa, Lydia, Brandi, Andrew, Emma and Lincoln.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobbie; two sisters, June Dutton and Carolyn Dutton; and three brothers, Melvin Dutton, Everett Dutton and Joe Dutton.

Billie enjoyed cooking and was a very good cook. She loved reading her Bible and spending time with God, family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation is 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Evans Funeral Home, with services beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ted Moore officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers are: Raymond Jackson, Shawn Gibson, John Michael Gibson and Lydia Gibson.
