Rusty James Daugherty was born June 12, 1965, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Freddie and Shirley (Spencer) Daugherty. He passed away at his home in Eunice, Mo., on Jan. 13, 2020, at the age of 54.
He was raised in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and in 1984 he moved to Missouri.
Rusty was a carpenter/handyman by trade and he enjoyed fixing things. He was also an avid outdoorsman, where he could be found fishing and hunting with his buddy Billy. Rusty also loved riding his Harley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie. as well as two nieces, Cory Joe Blanks and Dessa Louise Blanks.
Rusty is survived by his mother, Shirley of Summersville; daughter Krystal and son Christopher, both of Eunice; grandsons, Dakoata and Jonathan of Licking; his sister Ronda and a brother Rick, both of Summersville, as well as eight nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
One of Rusty’s favorite songs was “Carry on Wayward Son” by Kansas. When you hear that song, turn it up and let it bring back memories of him.
The family will host a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements were handled by Bradford Funeral Home, Summersville.
