Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters recently, according to recently released minutes. 

Members of the Texas County Commission met on Feb 11, according to recently released minutes.

Commissioners:

•Viewed correspondence from the Public Service Commission, Smith and Company Engineers, Keck and Austin LLC, its attorney.

•Reviewed and approved township contracts with Date and Burdine.

•Approved the purchase of a vehicle for the sheriff’s department from another department.

•Acknowledged the resignation of Loni Wolfe-Jones as a full-time jailer effective Feb. 31, the hiring of David Goodman as a full-time jailer on Jan. 31, the resignation of Eric Brown as a full-time bailiff on Feb. 3, the resignation of Robert Duncan as a bailiff effective Jan. 12; and hiring of Truly Graham Applegate as a full-time deputy effective Feb. 12.

•Discussed delinquent taxes for 2016 and 2017 with the collector-treasurer. County land ownership records will be used to see if correct addresses can be uncovered.
