JEFFREY SMITH

Jeffrey Smith, age 58, was born July 17, 1961, in St. Louis, Mo., to Eugene and Gladys “Mick” (Rowen) Smith. He passed away Feb. 16, 2020. in St. Louis, Missouri.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his fiancé Tammy Beasley; siblings, Dale Smith and wife Judy, Rose Hardie and husband Joe, Mickey Smith and wife Mary Louise, Jerry Smith and Diana Atterberry, and many nieces and nephews.

Jeffrey attended grade school in Success and graduated from Houston High School in 1979.

After school he went to work with his brother Dale in the sign making business. He was talented in his ability to paint and design signs. But because of his many attributes he was willing to pitch in and do whatever jobs needed to be done and he did them well.

He also loved working on trucks and cars. It was a hobby of his to work on different vehicles. He was always interested in how to fix them or improve the way they worked.

He loved deer hunting and being outdoors.

Jeffrey was a man with a kind heart. He was always available to help anyone, not hesitating to drop what he was doing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

Jeffrey was a man who gave of his time and talents to others, he had a wonderful sense of humor and it made him a man who everyone enjoyed working with. He will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him.

Services are noon Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at Evans Funeral Home with Jackie Cooper officiating. Burial was in Ellis Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Houston.  Pallbearers were: Chris Smith, Pat Smith, Hayden Smith, Austin Smith, Jake Hartung, and Jim Kirkwood.
