Orrin “Dean” Pinkston, age 76, of Houston, Mo., passed away Feb. 6, 2020, at the Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Mo. He was born Nov. 15, 1943, in Wendel, Ind., to Obadiah and Mary “Ruth” (Huff) Pinkston.
Dean graduated from Houston High School in 1962. He made his home in Houston doing construction work building houses. He built Connie’s house, his house and Dorothy’s house, among many others in Texas County. He loved sports, all sports, including football, golf and shuffleboard.
Dean was a Vietnam War veteran with the U.S. Army.
He married the love of his life, Dorothy (Ragain) Hamilton April 26, 1976, but they were together for a total of 51 ½ years. He and Dorothy never had children, but Dorothy had three daughters, Bobbie, Connie and Pam.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Obe and Ruth; daughters, Bobbie Hamilton and Connie Richardson; a brother, Ed Pinkston; three brothers-in-law, David Ingalls, Bud Ragain and Mib Ragain; two sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Walls and Barbara Pinkston.
Dean is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; daughter, Pam Osborn of Houston, Mo.; two sisters, Diana Ingalls of Plato, Mo., and Cheryl Haney and husband Benny of Lynchburg, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Keith Walls of Cabool, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Fern Parks of St. Louis, Mo.; three granddaughters, Penne, Tabby and Lori; two great-grandsons, Dalton and Noah; three great-granddaughters, Rachel, Rose and Chasta; eight great-great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Jaiden, Riley, Zelena, Paityn, Sharilyn, Kinzleigh and Grace; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The joy of his life was his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at Evans Funeral Home, with services and full military honors beginning at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Houston.
