The Cabool Police Department responded to several calls during the past week, including a domestic dispute.

The department reported 16 traffic stops resulting in nine summons issued. One arrest for a non-traffic offense was made.

On Feb. 5, officers were dispatched to a potential domestic dispute on Highland Street. Starr Nelson, 40, of Cabool, was arrested for resisting arrest and third-degree assault on a special victim, officers stated. Nelson was transported to the Texas County Jail. Bond is set at $1,500 cash only.

On Feb. 10, Yvonne Prince, Salem, was traveling east on U.S. 60 in a 2020 Lincoln and struck a deer. No injuries were reported.

In total, police handled one accident, seven animal complaints, one domestic violence call, two juvenile matters, one mental instability call, one peace disturbance, one stealing/theft incident, two suspicious activity incidents, one warrant arrest, assisted other agencies 16 times and assisted the public 11 times.
