With an election planned for April 2, here some deadlines, along with information about the Democratic presidential primary and Republican caucuses:

•The last day to register to vote for the April 2 election is March 6. That can be completed in the office of the county clerk on the third floor of the Texas County Administrative Center. Absentee voting begins six weeks before an election for registered voters. (Feb. 20)

•Feb. 21: For voters participating in the Democratic presidential preference primary, this is the final day to complete voter registration. The primary voting is 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, March 23, at the lower level of the Texas County Administrative Center on Grand Avenue in Houston. Mailed ballots are available for request via the Missouri Democrat Party’s

website with distribution beginning mid-February. (https://request.mrgvote.com/Missouri/) This request period will close on March 12. Tabulations will be announced March 28.

•March 2: Republican caucuses begin at 10 a.m. in each of Missouri’s 114 counties. In Texas County, registration begins at 9 a.m at the community building at the chamber fairgrounds in Houston. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is available at mogop.org. A photo identification is required.
