A Seymour man is charged with four felonies after an alleged altercation Sunday north of Houston, authorities said.
Leslie Sigman, who was born in 1971, is charged with two counts of third-degree assault and two charges of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk. He is held in the Texas County Jail on $2,000 cash bond.
According to a report from the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, it was called after the assault. The motive was apparently a missing car key. An infant and toddler were at the assault scene. Sigman told an officer there was a verbal disturbance and no one was assaulted.
The deputy observed one person with a bleeding laceration on the forehead. The victim was holding the baby while being struck, according to a report. Another person was holding the toddler and tried to intervene when she was struck by Sigman, according to the report. A third person was pushed to the ground by the suspect, authorities said.
