Missouri State Highway Patrol

Two persons were injured Saturday morning in an accident about three miles south of Roby, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Chad Johnson said a southbound 2002 Ford Explorer driven by TJ Williams, 59, of Houston, ran off the left side of Highway 17 and struck trees at about 11:50 a.m. He was flown to Cox South in Springfield with moderate injuries. A passenger, Lori E. Cope, 44, of Summersville, had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Both were wearing seat belts. The vehicle was totaled. Assisting at the scene was Cpl. Justin Piccinino.
