Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings March 27-28.
Members:
- Reviewed and approved an account payable for Scenic Rivers Vehicles totaling $3,067.10.
- Reviewed and approved a liquor license for Atina Comer dba The Resort at Boiling Springs, LLC.
- Reviewed emails on the FLAP agreement for Paddy Creek.
- Interviewed a county citizen for the TCMH board member position.
- Reviewed a Camp Road bridge invoice.
- Approved a liquor license for the Houston Chamber of Commerce Gala event.
In other business, commissioners heard from:
- Grant Wilson, U.S. Rep. Jason Smith’s office, who gave updates on the county, Fort Leonard Wood south gate and National Park Service.
- Bill Bridges, interim hospital CEO, on the open board member position and the finalization of a letter for TCMH.
- Joan Branum who spoke to Commissioner John Casey about a sign on Putnam Lane in Upton Township.
- Justin Copley, Houston R-1 School District superintendent; Janice Weddle; and Kyle Wake, University of Missouri Extension, on a program to benefit Texas County students utilizing opioid settlement funds.
- Casey attended the Missouri University Extension annual dinner.
- Casey attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new surgical center at TCMH.
