HHS track teams compete at Zizzer Relays in West Plains

The Houston High School track and field teams competed in Thursday’s Zizzer Relays meet at West Plains, with the boys placing 15^th in a field of 21 teams and the girls finishing 13^th out of 17.

The HHS girls had five top-10 finishes in the big event, while the boys had four.

HHS GIRLS TOP-10s

•Javelin: Kynlee Weaver 2^nd, 39 throwers, 102-0.5

•800-meter run: Kristen Ely 9^th, 32 runners, 2:44.03.

•300-meter hurdles, Adyson Dailing 8^th, 15 runners, 51.73.

•4X100 relay: Houston 10^th, 14 teams, 57.19 (Makynna Morelan, Morgan McKinney, Carli Cummins and Summer Seago).

•High jump: Kayla Wagner 10^th, 16 jumpers, 4-6.

Other notable performances:

•1,600 meter run: Ely 12^th, 20 runners, 6:14.41

•100-meter hurdles: Dailing 12^th, 19 runners, 18:64.

•Long jump: Summer Seago 12^th, 28 jumpers, 13-10.5.

•Triple jump: Wagner 14^th, 22 jumpers, 29-3.25.

•Javelin: Morgan McKinney 12^th, 89-2.25.

Ozark topped the girls team standings and West Plains was second.

HHS BOYS TOP-10s

•400-meter dash: DJ Riley 7^th in a field of 46 runners with a time of 55.87.

•110-meter hurdles: Jordan Arthur 10^th, 18 runners, 18:30.

•4X800 relay: Houston 7^th, 10 teams, 9:39.14 (Jackson Evetts, Kane Crawford, Dillon Shelton and Jack Sawyer).

•Javelin: Mason Dodson 4^th, 47 throwers, 136-5.

Other notable performances:

•Shot put: Layne Seago 12^th, Maleki Morgan 13^th (field of 49).

•Discus: Devin Shelton 11^th, Brody Adkison 15^th (field of 55).

West Plains took first and Willard placed second in the boys team standings.
