An inmate at the South Central Correctional Center at Licking died Friday evening, the Missouri Department of Corrections reported.
Roberto Ayala, 60, was serving a nine-year sentence for first-degree involuntary manslaughter out of Buchanan County. The death occurred at 8:03 p.m.
Ayala had been in prison since April 7, 2022.
Officials said an autopsy will be conducted.
