A popular hangout for some in this region is the subject of a new book, “Summers at Cedar Grove, The Rise and Fall of an Ozark Village.” It is written by Ben Timson, who describes his summers spent at Cedar Grove along the Current River and its history east of Raymondville.
Timson will speak and signs books at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Ozark Natural and Resource Center, 202 S. Main St., Salem.
He is a retired professor of biomedical sciences at Missouri State University. He taught for 32 years before retiring about two years ago.
