Seven young women from across the state that were crowned originally in Houston this past October will compete for the title of Miss Missouri and Miss Missouri’s Teen this week.

Since being crowned earlier this year the girls have participated in a wide range of activities throughout our community and helped raise funds for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) as well as their own personal Social Initiatives.

Pageant week began Sunday, June 9 when the Miss Missouri candidates moved onto the Missouri Military Academy’s Campus in Mexico, Mo. A few hours after moving in, the girls started rehearsing for the week as well as the Miss delegates who will participate in the Miss Missouri Golf Classic at the Oaks Golf Course in Mexico, Mo.

Throughout the week, the Miss Missouri delegates will participate in a variety of activities, ending on the afternoon of Saturday, June 15 with a meet and greet for area residents on the courthouse lawn, located in downtown Mexico.

The preliminary competition begins Wednesday, June 12 and will continue through Friday, June 14. The organization will crown a new Teen Titleholder on Friday, June 14, and a Miss Titleholder on Saturday, June 15 as it says goodbye to the 2023 titleholders Hayley Leach and Gracyn Rouse which were originally crowned in Houston at the local Southern Missouri Pageant. The local directors for the Southern Missouri Pageant are Shari McCallister and Cassie Carter.

The Miss Missouri Scholarship Organization is one of the largest providers of scholarships to young women in the state. This year, the organization will award more than $85,000 in scholarships between the Miss Missouri and Teen programs.

Tickets for the Miss Missouri and Miss Missouri’s Teen Competition are available through The Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 100 West Jackson St or by calling 573-581-2765.
