Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during a meeting Wednesday, July 3.

Members:

  • Approved a Simmons Bank card, Walmart credit card and City of Houston Fiber bills to be paid via ACH.
  • Met Tuesday, July 2 for the Public Water Supply District #1 well project. Those in attendance were Jess Moran, SCOCOG; Kim Shafer, Julia Freese, Brandon Pemberton, CBDG; Natalin Fletcher, PWSD #1; Tammy Cantrell, Texas County collector/treasurer; Peggy Seyler, Texas County clerk; and Commissioners Scott Long and John Casey.
  • Sent an email concerning elected official closing offices without commission approval.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the resignation of Kyle Gross, maintenance, effective Tuesday, July 9.
  • Reviewed correspondence from the State of Missouri Office of Prosecution Services on the prosecutor’s salary increase.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Jason Rinker, Stronghold Data, concerning cybersecurity and IT services.
  • Brad Rees who discussed township roads and Industrial Development Authority (IDA) happenings.
  • Dan Cavender, BPJ Insurance, about the county’s liability insurance renewal.
  • John Sterner, Clinton Township, concerning roads and potential FEMA declaration.
  • The 911 office concerning a cable that needs into its office.
  • Ivan Schraeder, attorney, on several county issues.
