The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- A 62-year-old Raymondville man reported on June 27 that multiple items had been stolen from his Splitlimb Road residence.
The man told an investigating deputy that things had been swiped from his house in May and June, and that the problem had been ongoing for some time. He also said some packages were missing.
There are no suspects.
- On May 18, a deputy responded to a report of a possible overdose at a Highway 17 residence in Summersville.
On the way there, the officer was advised by dispatch that other responders reported seeing drug paraphernalia in a female suspect’s vehicle, and that she had fled the area in the vehicle.
The deputy then observed the vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 17 and conducted a traffic stop. A computer check revealed that the 31-year-old Summersville woman who was driving had several active arrest warrants, didn’t have a valid driver’s license and that the vehicle hadn’t been registered in two years.
The deputy placed the woman under arrest, and she disclosed that she had controlled substances in the glove box. She was taken to jail, where more drugs were found in her possession.
A brown substance she had tested positive for was amphetamines. Drug samples were sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crime lab for analysis.
Photographs of various evidence were taken and a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor.
- A 44-year-old Houston man reported on May 3 that he has cameras for hunting use mounted in the Pioneer Forest and they had been taken down four to six times by a 73-year-old Raymondville man.
The officer contacted the man who is the chief forester for the Pioneer Forest, and he reportedly said the public is free to access the land and anyone can put up cameras there.
The suspect was contacted and said he wanted to talk to an attorney before any questioning.
Investigation is ongoing.
